Fundraising efforts!

The main focus of Friends of Youngstown, Inc. is to fundraise for specific improvements in the village.  We are primarily focused on improving recreation and facilities as follows:

Annual Nancy Price Memorial Scholarship

Friends of Youngstown (FOY), Inc. is continuing the tradition of the Nancy Price Memorial Scholarship that has previously been given out by the Village of Youngstown.   FOY has taken on the responsibility of the scholarship to support the Village transformation in policies and processes to adhere to proper NYS municipal codes.  The annual scholarship is awarded to a Lewiston Porter senior graduating in the year of the award to be used for school expenses, either college/university or trade school.

Banners - Veteran's Park Improvement Fund

Donate to the Veteran's Park Improvement Fund by being a 2026 ballpark sponsor!  Thanks to the generosity of our supporters through this sponsorship and event participation, the Friends of Youngstown has already made a donation to the Village of Youngstown in the amount of $9,500 to renew the ballpark fencing in 2026!

Vet's Park is home to several leagues and programs in the area, including Lewiston Girls Softball, Youngstown Open Play Program, and the newly installed 9-hole disc golf course.

We are working towards additional improvements at Veteran's Park including a new pavilion, new scoreboards, better lighting and additional activity centers.  All improvements will be coordinated with the Greenway Project that is underway in the Village.

You can join us as a 2026 ballpark sponsor and have your business showcased or a memorial for a loved one displayed on a prominent banner at the following levels:

    Silver:  $250 for a 2'X5' banner

    Gold:  $500 for 3'X6' banner

Your company name and logo will be prominently displayed on a banner seen by families and tourists visiting Historic Youngstown.

Sponsorships are annual and will receive placement to December 31 of the sponsoring year.  Sponsorship renew annually.

Youngstown Recreation Center Remodel

The Village Teen Center is located in the basement of the Village Center, aka Red Brick.

The Teen Center was the local hang-out for teens and the local kids to play games, do crafts, and hang out with friends.  The goal is to remodel the space into a Recreation Center which will be inviting for all ages with modern furniture, new activities, new ADA compliant bathroom and general upgrades.

Village of Youngstown Clock Tower

The Clock Tower on the Village Center was originally constructed as a bell tower in the 1930's with the clock being added in the 1960's.  Due to the lack of maintenance over the years,  there is structural and water damage.  The Village intends to stabilize and move the Clock Tower to the ground utilizing ARPA funds from NYS.  This will allow for a contractor to perform the necessary roofing and building repairs.  While the Tower is on the ground,  the Village intends to obtain quotes to renovate the structure to then place it back onto the roof of the Village Center.  Having the tower on the ground will provide for easy and safe access to a contractor to perform the necessary renovations.
