Scholarship Management
The Nancy & Vicki Price Scholarship management has been transferred to The Friends of Youngstown, Inc as of April 2026.
All future applications, selection process and scholarship monies will be handled by FOY.
If you are a past winner with funds remaining on your scholarship, please either email a copy of your official school class schedule for 2026 to FOY14174@outlook.com or mail to FOY, PO Box 166, Youngstown NY 14174. Please include the address you would like to receive the check. The schedule can either be printed out of a school system or a hard copy mailed by the school. It needs to contain your name and the school's name on the document.

2026 Scholarship Winners!
The Nancy and Vicki Price Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Nancy Price, longtime Director of Youngstown Recreation, and Vicki Price, a devoted Lewiston-Porter teacher assistant. For 20 years, Nancy led the Youngstown Recreation program with tireless dedication, investing deeply in the youth and the community she served. Vicki was known for her warm smile and the genuine care and encouragement she shared with everyone she met. Both women are remembered for the many lives they touched and the lasting impact they made. This year’s scholarship recipients reflect the spirit, compassion, and commitment that defined Nancy and Vicki’s legacy.
We are proud to announce the winners of the 2026 Nancy and Vicki Price Memorial Scholarship:

Raistlyn Julias has been awarded a $2,000 annual scholarship, renewable for up to four years, for a total award of $8,000. A former participant in Youngstown Recreation holiday parties as a child, Raistlyn has grown into a dedicated young leader with a passion for reading, learning, and giving back to her community. She serves as a soccer coach for the youngest players and has contributed more than 65 hours to volunteer work and service projects. This fall, Raistlyn plans to attend Binghamton University to study Biomedical Sciences and pre-med, with the goal of becoming a pediatric surgeon so she can help children the way doctors have helped her.
Kasey Ringvelski has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship. Growing up, Kasey found happiness and a sense of safety playing at Veterans and Faulkner Parks, experiences that helped shape her connection to the community. She has excelled at BOCES, where she was selected as a student ambassador, representing the program to local businesses, students, and parents. Kasey has also given back through volunteer service, including selling raffle tickets at Friends of Youngstown fundraisers and coaching summer baseball for the Recreation Department. This fall, she plans to attend the University at Buffalo to study Nuclear Medicine Technology, preparing for a future in which she can continue serving her community.
Julian Jenosheck has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship. Growing up, Julian participated in many Youngstown Recreation activities, where he built lasting friendships with other children in the community. More recently, he experienced the impact of Youngstown Recreation from a new perspective through the inclusive basketball program. As a volunteer, Julian brought heartfelt joy and encouragement to the children, supporting activities and sharing in their laughter and enthusiasm. This fall, he plans to attend SUNY Schenectady to pursue a career as an air traffic controller, building a future grounded in discipline, responsibility, and perseverance.

The Nancy and Vicki Price Memorial Scholarship is to honor the memory of Nancy Price, Director of Youngstown Recreation and Vicki Price, Lewiston-Porter teacher assistant. Nancy lived her life and ran the Youngstown Recreation program for 20 years. She was invested and tireless in supporting the youth and our community. Vicki’s smile and the way she loved and cared for others were an encouragement to everyone she encountered. Both these women are remembered for the many lives they touched. This scholarship is an annual award in their honor.
Scholarship Guidelines:
Scholarship Amount: $2,000 Annually for up to Four (4) Years for a total of $8,000!
Criteria and Eligibility

Applicant must attend a local area High School
-
Applicant must have participated in a Youngstown Recreation program or event (i.e., Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Red Brick activities, etc.)

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award

Applicant must have at least a 2.0 grade point average (or a “C” average).

Applicant must demonstrate involvement in school and community activities.

Applicant must be planning to attend a university, college, trade, or vocational school.

Applicants must have 20 hours of community service.

The application is available in a fillable Microsoft Word Form, pdf, or paper copy. You may download a copy online at http://www.foy14174/scholarship .You will be able to save your work and edit your responses if you use Microsoft Word; otherwise, you must print the application and fill it out by hand. Make sure your handwriting is legible.

DEADLINE for scholarship applications is March 27, 2026 (no exceptions). Turn completed application package in to the Lewiston Porter High School Guidance Office or emailed to jgruarin@youngstownnewyork.us .

Application Process:
Applicant must submit the following items:

Cover letter.

Completed application form.

Personal Essay must be 1-2 typed pages, double-spaced, 12 pt / Time New Roman font. Essay shall contain no grammatical errors.

One (1) letter of recommendation from other than relatives. The letter should speak to the character, integrity and/or uniqueness of the applicant.

Applicant must also complete at least 20 hours of documented community service.

The Selection Committee will interview finalists in early May.

The Scholarship presentation will be made at the Senior Awards Ceremony.
Annual Award Renewal:
Scholarship winner will need to provide proof of continued instruction at a university, college, trade, or vocational school each year to receive the ongoing scholarship for a total of 4 years. Send a copy of the student's enrollment record with date to the Village of Youngstown Clerk at 240 Lockport St. Youngstown, NY 14174.
